Employee Engagement

Raising awareness and funds together for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)'s lifesaving international humanitarian medical work can help strengthen staff members' sense of corporate pride and commitment.

You can encourage employees and colleagues to rally together with team-building exercises, or through your workplace giving program. This page offers some ideas and inspiration to kick off your efforts at work.

We're here to help if you need us. On behalf of our patients and staff around the world: thank you for supporting our lifesaving crisis-response efforts in more than 70 different countries, where we deliver emergency humanitarian medical care to people affected by crisis, conflict, disaster or neglect.

Employee Fundraising

We have a range of fundraising resources that you can use to help you get started, and to help you raise awareness and funds for MSF’s essential work.

Connecting with MSF’s work

1. Request an MSF speaker

  • If you’d like to raise more awareness about MSF in your office, we can arrange for a member of our field teams to come and speak about their experiences on the front lines of MSF’s overseas humanitarian medical work

2. Volunteer Engagement

  • Host a Missing Maps Mapathon: Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally missing from any map, and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts. Missing Maps is an open, collaborative project in which you can help to map areas where humanitarian organizations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people. You and your colleagues can host an MSF Missing Maps Mapathon and help improve our ability to deliver care while working together with your members of your team.

3. Opportunity to visit MSF Projects

  • MSF can help arrange a visit for you and your colleagues to MSF’s training and innovation centre, the Espace Bruno Corbé (EBC) and Supply Warehouse, located at the port of Brussels, in Belgium. Options include:

Team Building:

  • MSF offers corporate supporters the opportunity to organize a one-of-a-kind team-building experience at our training centre. Attendees will learn how MSF responds to emergencies around the world and be motived by our dedicated field staff — who will also provide practical information on the way MSF operates, on our projects, and on the equipment  we use in the field.

Tours:

  • Espace Bruno Corbé (EBC): Explore and experience real field conditions at the Espace Bruno Corbé. The site is an original concept in the field of humanitarian training. Tours of these facilities are designed to recreate the conditions encountered by staff at MSF overseas projects.
  • Supply Warehouse: Tour this vast space, managed by MSF’s own humanitarian supply-chain and procurement agency, which is full of everything required for MSF field operations. Teams will see where MSF buys, tests, stores and packages supplies, including vehicles, power supplies, water processing facilities, medicines and nutritional supplements.

4. Events

  • Invitations to MSF Public Events
  • Opportunity to host an MSF Event

Company Match

Don’t forget about the option to match all funds raised by employees. It will double the impact of employee fundraising efforts.
