Between 4 and 6 December 2022, the MSF team conducted three rescues in international waters near Libya. On 7 December, two medical evacuations were organised by the Geo Barents team: one for the pregnant woman to Malta by helicopter, the other for Fatima*, her newborn baby Ali* and her three other sons to Lampedusa. Another medical evacuation for a 14-year-old boy with severe abdominal pain was organized on 9 December. The remaining 248 survivors - including 81 minors - were waiting for a place of safety to disembark. A total of four requests were sent to responsible authorities of Italy and Malta and a positive answer came on 9 December 2022. Mediterranean Sea. © Candida Lobes/MSF © Candida Lobes/MSF
